The book reconstructs the famous dance 3 September 1960 the Dukes Francesco and Elena Serra Cassano organized in their splendid palace, restored after the ravages of war, to celebrate the opening of the Olympic regatta that Naples housed during the XVII edition of the Games was taking place in Rome. At the dance attended by more than a thousand guests, including kings, queens and princes of the most important royal families of Europe, heads of state, people of fashion, costume, journalism and international aristocracy. Embellished with over 150 images in the novel, the book collects stories, contexts, curiosity, and reproduces many of the documents about the history of the palace and the correspondence between the dukes autographs and participating in the evening. The main narrator is entrusted to the chroniclers, by careful selection of excerpts from magazines and newspapers in September 1960. Important contributions have been specially commissioned to protagonists of the cultural, business and social activity in Italy during those years and today, including Roberto Capucci, Paolo Bulgari and Nicola Caracciolo, Mario d'Urso, Virmani Cusenza, who by their testimony paint the fresco of an entire era.
