167 Pages, Illustrated. 9 3/4 x 10 7/8"
Cecil King (1921-1986) is one of Ireland's most distinguished artists. A self-taught painter, he is known for his distinctive hard-edged minimalist style which he developed in the late 1960s. A committed modernist, he was a founding member of the Rosc exhibitions which were so instrumental in bringing avant-garde ideas to Ireland. This publication which accompanies the first major exhibition of his work since 1981, covers his entire career and focuses on the later paintings for which he is best known.
