Diana Hesketh was born in Yorkshire and educated at Roedean School, followed by art school in Shrewsbury. She trained as an Occupational Therapist and then married architect Derek Phillips. After living in the USA for eighteen months, they returned to the UK and had five children. Diana studied sculpture and went on to make and exhibit a wide range of work, including wood carvings, cement fondue sculptures, stained glass and jewellery.
