Synopsis The second volume devoted to the most recent works by Antonio Nunziante, paintings which testify to his style and technical ability. Trained in Turin and Florence, Nunziante is fascinated by the Renaissance, but he likewise has a passion for Flemish and North-European art. He ranges widely through the seventeenth century, the period of still-lifes as an independent art form and of Vermeer, as well as the eighteenth century of Chardin and so down to more recent masters such as Böcklin, Dalí, Picasso and naturally De Chirico. This volume - which gives a very full account of the style and fascination of Nunziante, between the intellectual recovery of classicism, symbolic representation, dream and myth - is the second in a series which will present the complete oeuvre of the Master: oil paintings, watercolours, engravings, temperas and majolicas.
