Synopsis
1842: Peter, clever Calafate, leaves the Lake Como and moves on Lake Iseo, a Sarnico, where he begins the adventure of Riva. He gave birth to fishing boats, followed by the steamboats and even the first racing boats and pleasure craft. In the Fifties and Sixties the Shipyard Riva itself to international and motorboats Carlo last exponent of the family would tarnish the reputation of boats across the Atlantic. The period that follows sees a clear process of evolution of designs and construction of recreational craft. In May 2000 Ferretti Spa acquires Shipyard, taking in fact the preservation and enhancement of the culture of Riva. In the pages of this book the author tells the story of a legend, the evolution of a myth. A valuable iconography describes the images of some of the most famous boats and personalities who have contributed to characterize more than a century, the curious and fascinating world of pleasure boating.
