When INXS's lead singer Michael Hutchence was found dead in a Sydney hotel room in November 1997, the international media instantly descended, giving Tina Hutchence, his sister, and Patricia Glassop, his mother, little chance for private grief. Every day dubious tales appeared, spun by journalists, lovers and business associates who had known Michael for a mere fraction of his thirty-seven years, if at all. Tina and Patricia feel they owe it to Michael to set the record straight. This intimate biography introduces us to the talented child, the gifted teen who gravitated into music, the magnetic young adult and the rock star. Exploring the notorious highs and lows of a superstar, the generous family man and doting but unconventional father, Tina and Patricia present a realistic and moving tribute to the man they loved.
