Summary:

Oliver Stanley was educated at Oxford and Harvard universities. During the Second World War he liberated France (with some help from Generals Montgomery and Eisenhower). In what remained of his misspent youth, he joined the Inland Revenue, changed sides in the tax wars, and became a banker. He has written many books and articles about taxation and finance, and for ten years he was chairman of Profile Books. His first novel, Hotel Victoire
