This first pack in a proposed new series aims to provide specific and up-to-date teaching information for PSE co-ordinators, covering the most important issues within schools today. Drug Education is based on research carried out into common school issues and teachers' needs. Each year section contains teaching ideas as well as planning considerations for the main categories of drug: alcohol, tobacco, and illegal substances.

All sections also feature a useful approach in helping discuss issues of risk-taking with reference to drugs, as well as giving advice on how teachers and pupils can then make informed decisions about actions -- including the nature of that decision making process. Topics are divided into teaching notes and pupil materials.
